Days filled with both happy excitement, and darkness

So I had a pretty good Monday as far as Mondays go. A decent day at work, tired of shop days (I know I know, broken record right?) but I finished the lexans and got the package shipped to BC. I'm so excited for them to get it!

I got home, and chilled out on the patio with the roommates, enjoyed some home made ribs, and a few beers! We went in to watch the hockey game, but it didn't turn out the way I wanted :( an obvious goal for the Canucks, was disallowed, and the L.A. Kings ended up coming up with the win, and the series lead. They're now up 2 games to 1 and Van has an uphill battle.

I agree with most sportscasters, in the thought that this NHL playoffs is one of the best in recent history.

My life is suffering a serious lack of kink these days, I hope the phrase "if you don't use it, you lose it," is a blatant lie.... I guess I'll have to continue living vicariously through padme and Master Anakin/Darth....;)

Life is good.

Well, not too much to update about, but, I had a really nice weekend! I only had to put in a half shop day in on Saturday, and because spring breakup has pretty much officially taken over, they gave us Sunday off! Saturday night I got to go out with a buddy to a local pub, enjoyed a few wobbly pops, and had my heart broken watching the L.A. Kings luck out a win in overtime against the Vancouver Canucks. Sunday was a wonderfully relaxing day of rest, however, I did get one little task finished up!

The lexan's are DONE! The surprise for Master Anakin/Darth and padme (http://darkside-journey.blogspot.com/) is all finished! I got it all boxed up, and I was going to send it, but, I need to be sure I'm sending it to the right place. I tried to get a hold of padme on the weekend, but no dice. So I finished the surprise for padme and Master Anakin, however, it did not turn out as I had hoped. :( I will still send it out, but I'm probably going to have to send parts for repair/replacement. Totally sucks because I was SO excited for them to have a perfect new toy. Lame!

Good morning world! I had a pretty good day yesterday! The Canucks now lead the series 1-0.

Sigh. Shop days. I can haz werk plz? Seriously, this sucks. I am stuck goin in day after day to polish rims, until things pick up again. Lol, just when I started getting comfortable working my butt off every single day, everything grinds to a standstill.

Got some work done on the lexans last night, and they're turning out wicked! I may have to get to Calgary one of these days to pick up some more when I finish these ones! The supplies to make them are so cheap that I can make 4 - 2' lexan rods for about $20 bucks! So, because of this, I don't mind givin them away. Anyone want one? I've discovered that a 2' rod is about the perfect length. Any longer and its tough to get an accurate swing, and any shorter you don't really get the whippy snap. "Mmmm, whippy snap" *drools*

So, maybe today I'll FINALLY get to hear padme's voice for the first time! Lol, she's a busy girl!

Sometimes its just not the right time...

So, lol, padme and I have been looking forward to chatting with each other for a couple days now, and it seems life keeps getting in the way... Lol, my work, her kids, bad days, etc...

So, it seems "spring breakup" has hit. In my industry, when springtime comes, the roads we travel become soft and sloppy, and traveling in these roads can be both a GIGANTIC hassle, and quite destructive to the roads. So, they "ban" the roads for big trucks. Because these roads are what we need to travel to do our job out here in the Alberta oilpatch, the industry pretty much grinds to a near standstill. I put in my first full shop day today, after nearly 5 straight months of steady work. There was a LOT of equipment parked in the yard today, and this does not bode well for my paychecks. Rumor is that it will be a short one, so, fingers crossed!

Ok peeps! So I'm pretty 'cited today! I got some work done on the lexans last night! They're all cut to size, and the tips are nicely rounded. I picked up the dowel for b's, and some stuff to make Master Anakin/Darth and padme's! Mine turned out pretty ugly, but effective! HOLY OUCH BATMAN! I gave myself a light practice swat on my thigh, and WHOA, this is gonna be a WICKED toy. Sorry in advance padme, lol, I can see this being a punishment toy, not a play toy!

In other news, the STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS start today!!! GO CANUCKS GO!!!!! I have 3 teams I cheer for...lol, and 2 of them had a HORRIBLE season and didn't make the playoffs. The Edmonton Oilers, and The Toronto Maple Leafs. My third team? Anyone playing the Calgary lames. Lol. My Oilers won the first overall pick in the draft lottery, and with the players in their farm system, this pick, and a healthy world class goaltender, things are looking up!

I get to chat with padme later today, if she's allowed, and hopefully the sting of her current situation has dulled some. Lexan!

So, I got home last night, and I stopped at crappy tire on my way and picked up some lexan polish! First thing I did, after getting home, was cut the 4' rod into 2 - 2' pieces. I ground the cut end down to a smooth rounded tip, and tried out the polish. Unfortunately it didn't really work that well. But I grabbed some 2000 grit, detailer's sandpaper and tried sanding the haze out, and polishing after. It wasn't perfect, but it turned out MUCH better!

I tried using some very thin nylon cord to wrap a handle, and it worked, but its not pretty. So, this one will be my own personal toy. I am going to be grabbing a nicely detailed wooden dowel to construct a handle for lil b's rod, perhaps try and incorporate some kind of cutsie pink detail into the handle.

And for Master Anakin/Darth Vader and padme, I have a REALLY cool Idea, but its gonna take some work, and I want it to be a surprise!

Speaking of padme...I feel horrible about the rough situation she's dealing with right now. I wish I could be there to give her a big hug and help take her mind off things. :( although she hurts, I know she has an incredible man in her life, who loves her with all his heart. You have a rock solid foundation, padme, on which to rebuild the home for your heart. Master Anakin is there for you, and will help you through this tempest. *hugs*

So, with work consuming nearly all my time, and sprinkling in spotty cell service, my Blog has suffered a disturbing lack of updates. :( not to mention my inability to consistently keep up on my reading of all the wonderful blogs I try to follow. But, I have found, albeit lacking, a small amount of time to have a bit of fun.

A bit of a timeline - on Wednesday the 7th, I drove for 14 hours straight, to south eastern Saskatchewan. Had one day of work on Thursday, and on Friday the 9th, I started the long trip home. Now, I was supposed to go straight northwest through Regina, Saskatoon, Lloydminster, and finally to Sherwood Park Alberta. But fate intervened, and just south of Regina, I heard on the radio that the highway between there and Saskatoon was closed due to an apocalyptic winter storm. So, instead of heading that way, I hooked west, and went straight to Calgary! As it so surprisingly happened, I was only able to drive till I hit "Cow-Town" and it being Friday, my good friend lil b was going to a local bdsm club we've gone to together once before!
